What, given my mix of wood type is a proper weight per liter?

Hard for me to say with shavings. I always try and avoid them they have a lot of end grain I've found.

10-15 grams of chips per liter of ~60% is what my notes say.
I've gone as high as 19 grams/ liter with some merlot wine soaked chips, but I'm keeping an eye/tastebud on them.

Just remember, a few chips for longer makes better liquor than a ton for a short time.

Yeah I never go over ten grams. And I always go lighter on the dark toast and charred ones

I mostly use sticks and cubes now though because like I said, alot of end grain in the chips and shavings I've had
