Hello,
I started with a stainless milk can with condenser in a 5 gal bucket. Made my first run with regular yeast and fruit mash. Turned out pretty good. That was 20 years ago. Next beer keg with reflux head 2 runs of high proof poor tasting product. Built a carbon filter still tastes bad but no smell. Quit for over 10 years. Thinking of a grain mash from a pot still ( beer keg with no packing in reflux tower) using different yeast. I will be rereading and studying for this project. I'm still a beginner.
Thanks

Welcome! Lots of good information here. Read up and good luck!
🎱 The struggle is real and this rabbit hole just got interesting.
Per a conversation I had with Mr. Jay Gibbs regarding white oak barrel staves: “…you gotta get it burning good.”

Welcome back to this great hobby! Read, read, and read, lots of info here on both recipes and safety. As you know it's difficult to make a good tasting product from a bad recipe, keep your yeast happy (we discourage the use of turbos) and you probably will not need that carbon filter any more.
Be safe and read
