Brewing yeast?
I've been using Youngs brewing yeast and I wondered what strain it was. I emailed youngs who told me it is just a standard brewing yeast... It works great but I'm still curious as to the strain! Any ideas?

Is this it?
It looks like a typical Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It should work just fine at ale yeast fermentation temperatures.

Yes that's it! It works brilliantly and very cheap. Not too high an alcohol tolerance either so less chance of stress. Think I paid £2 for mine.
