I can only use fake vanilla essence, real vanilla is expensive as hell (one pod costs around $5) so the same price as my 40 cm lab condenser.

It seems interesting but I prefer my first run to be more neutral so I can use it in cocktails, but I may put some lemon/ lime peel in it to give it some nice citrus notes.

I pick up you're in the middle east? If you are where I think you are (Saudi?), use a site called Desertcart, they deliver in most places in the middle east and I never got anything confiscated yet, including chips and yeast and other things branded for "Brewing". It does take a couple weeks to get there though.

Alternatively, get yourself to the home store SACO and buy BBQ oak or apple or cherry, in little blocks or chips, you get them from the brand Weber or others too. give them a good soak and perhaps boil prior to using. I use little oak staves that I bring from my trips back to Europe.

Cheers,
