Barley?

Barley?
I see malted barley included in a lot of recipes, sometimes for fermentation, sometimes as a add to other grains. I got some 2 row malted barley, and added it to a fresh run of UJSSM. I scale down the weights of the recipe to fit in a 5 gallon bucket, so it's a 6 pound cracked corn, 6 pound sugar. First time, I used 1 pound barley to 5 pounds cracked corn, then ran it as usual. Turned out a very strong barley taste, too strong. So I tossed it and went with 6 pounds cracked corn and 1/2 pound barley. While it was better, the barley taste was still overwhelming to me.Strong stuff! I have kept it all, thought I will try to mix a small amount into the normal UJSSM stuff, a little at a time. Anyone have similar results with barley?
