Bourbonstreet, good luck. After all my failed attempts make a good whiskey or bourbon, I now exclusively drink vodka.

I'm working on a cooling water manifold at the moment.
I'll add a quick disconnect to the inlet, and then I can turn on the garden hose, and control the pc and the rc water from the same manifold. Or, only hook up the pc line and leave the rc valve closed.

20kg fine cut corn, 3kg pale malt, packet of glucoamylase (because I had it!), topped up to 80l with a pouch of kveik hornindale.

Also worked on my barrel stand. Just need to fill, sand and stain it.

I put a small bit of every batch in the oak jar. Most of my liquor I drink white like a vodka. I tried all-grain once or twice, but stick with sugar head now.
Re: What'd ya'll make today?
Out of curiosity, how does a sugar head taste oaked?
Re: What'd ya'll make today?
Looks like todays a beer day. Making a fresh hop IPA. I've got a giant cascade hop plant that wants to be a beer. I think it's been a year since I made beer. Been so focused on the whiskey side of things lately.

Re: What'd ya'll make today?
Just prior to heading to bed last night...thought... Christmas is coming.... and I've got a wee bit of my Candy Cane infused neutral left in a bottle from way back …. I threw in 5 more broken candy canes and topped it off with more neutral...This morning, the cane's were dissolved. Will sample after work today....

Re: What'd ya'll make today?
Over the last few weeks made up some barely malt and ended up with a tad over 3kg's so this morning milled the last of my cracked corn and got 4.25Kg's so got 20 litres of water to 95C and dumped in the corn, been mashing now for just over an hour and still on 85C. Gotta drop my daughter off to work soon and when I get back it will be interesting to see if my malt will clear the gloopy corn and do the conversion. This is my second attempt at corn where the first attempt was dismal failure as my attempt at external heating failed miserably.
Cheers Bryan
Edit: Left the corn for 3 hours and kept the temp between 80 and 90C so I thought it was ready to add the malt (insert head banging a brick wall) no change after I added all the malt so looks like my horses are getting a good feed in the morning

Re: What'd ya'll make today?
I thought 68C is the maximum temp for adding malted grain or the enzymes are denatured.
