Rum recipe recommendations?
Hey guys! So I'm pretty new to this, I've made a few sugar washes before but I really want to start making rum. Anyway I went and ordered these online and they came the other day, has anyone got a good rum recipe they would recommend?? I've had a look through the ones in tried and true but I don't know which one to choose.

Ive tried making most of them, at one time or another, If Ive not made it Ive,sampled the results made and aged by another distiller.
They all make good Rum, pick one you like the look of and go for it.
If your not happy try another recipe the next time.

Imho making a drinkable rum is easy. Making a great rum is harder. It’s simply fermented cane, either juice, sugar, or molasses. Do you want a drinkable white or dark funk? For a more drinkable white, more sugar or juice, less molasses. For funk, more molasses. Don’t overthink it, mix it up to about 1.08 to 1.10, start gravity, add bread yeast, and maybe some calcium and watch it go. Then distill it off. Just start making it and see what you like or pick a t&t.
I have posted more detailed recipes which can probably be found by searching. Funny thing, just found a pint of my second rum which was mostly store cane sugar and a small amount of molasses. Still a good drop.

This is my favourite .

If you have a plated still , 4 plates it amazing after Oaking for a year .
Pot stilled , you need to be very picky with your cuts , needs even longer on Oak .

Same as Yummy, do the SBB recipe. Some advice don't bother with a hydrometer, just follow the recipe and be patient, good luck

The problem with that recipe is that its hard for some people to access lots of cheap Molasses.
