Hi guys, need a litle of explanation here.
My new still (10gals) in construction has a 6in triclamp opening. I have a 6 to 3in adapter. I will use it as a pot still and reflux eventually.
I tend to think that 3in diameter is a little big of a column for a 10 gal still... What would be the effects of using a 3in column on a litle/medium still like this?
Does bigger columns produces more vapors, so potentially runing "faster" if the condenser is sized accordingly? I would also suppose that it may take more time to heat/balance the column at the begining of a run...
If you were building a 10 gal still, what column diameter would you chose?c
Thanks!
Trying to understand column diameter effect
