Volumes Produced (theoretically)

Post by Hebden »

I know I'm a newbie and all that and I should be reading before asking "repeated" questions so sorry for the following because it may well have been asked a million times, but on occasion I feel I need to ask.

Regards Gin Specifically

Would somebody mind telling me: If let's say I had a good efficient reflux still with 10L of sugar wash at 10%, does that mean that I will produce circa 1L to 1.1L of over 90% alcohol?

And secondly, if I want to fill a 10L still with 10L of wash, how big should my wash be?

Asked this because I wonder how much yeast creates how much sediment within sugar washes particularly when there's other minor elements/ingredients going in recipes to feed the yeast.
