Sweet helmet there! What was the cost? About 6-8" at the widest? Are you also in Ukraine?

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
Stumbled across an ad recently for swing-top canning jars. They had 1L and 1.5L ones and were asking 2€ for 5! Got 10 x 1.5L ones and I'm thinking about calling back and getting another 10. They're normally 26€ for 6 bought new!
Just need to make enough booze to fill them now.

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
This week I hauled in around 187 cases of wine bottles. 1.5l & 750ml. If it wasnt for the air compressor in the truck, I could have gotten the last 13 cases. I could easily spend the whole day re-stacking & organizing them all but I wont.

I am currently in Maui and usually bring my metal detector with me and spend an hour each morning detecting. Because my wife’s cousins from Norway came with us I left it at home. Kind a wish I had it with me.

I still have 3 but gave a 5 gallon and a 3 gallon to my wife’s cousin who makes beer. We share his beer every time we get together so I guess it was a good deal.Oldvine Zin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 9:25 am Got 2 5 gal carboys for $10 each!!carboys.jpg

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
I have been working on fabricating a fan shroud for the radiator in my truck and trying to scrounge up some kind of sheet metal cheap to fabricate it out of.
Today on my way home I spotted this and thought "that's probably enough stainless steel to fab the shroud out of
Then I looked it up
This thing cost $2,000 new!!!
Now we get to find out if I'm willing to make a $2,000 fan shroud

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
The only holes in it are the ones the factory put there. It's in perfect condition, even has the covers for the fans and motor. I think what you think is a hole is a leaf on top of it.Oldvine Zin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 9:24 pmBut with the hole in it prob not going to sell for 2k but still a great find for the stainless

That said I know you can't sell something used for new price but I'm thinking maybe I can sell it for enough to buy the metal I need for the fan shroud plus a little bit...although

Or is this something I can use together?

I think you'll get a better response if you post your question in the appropriate category. This one is for bargains on merchandize.Bradster68 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 3:05 pm I just got 20lbs of 2row rye and 20lb barley.

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
I just found 2.3m of 2" and an untouched 3m stick of 3" copper pipe on eBay for £50 the pair. With 15 minutes left on the auction, and the seller being only a half hour drive from me i would have kicked myself later on if i hadn't bought it.
Online plumbers merchant want £140ish for the 3" stick alone.
It gets better. I have been saving my pocket money for a while with intentions of an upgrade. When i told the mrs i just bought a load of copper on ebay and im going to spend some more on huge fittings, her response astounded me.
"Well best do it soon before the price of copper goes up..."
Fuck me I love that woman!
Looks like my old 2" nixon stone is going to be donated to a mate of mine who has been considering a build of his own but hasn't been given permission by the mrs to spend the money. If i give her a couple of bottles of panty dropper and the column that made it i think she may just relent.
So i get a new still for cheap, he gets a new still for the price of a heating element and an afternoon's effort, and I'll have enough 2" copper pipe to build another.
Today was a good day.

Re: Anybody get any good deals lately?
Called back the lady with the swing top jars. She had sold out of 1.5l jars but still as 1l ones. I plan on some ageing experiments soon and we use them around the house so picked up 20 for 8€. Gonna have to buy another bag of gaskets and maybe some more PTFE tape.
