PTFE sheets?

Post by Medicine_man »

Hello all,
Was wondering if anyone has dealt with oilslick pads.
They claim they are lab grade high temp and solvent safe. The sheets are 4 foot lengths which would be great for custom gaskets.
I will include the link I found.

I use 0.1mm PTFE Film Sheet from Amazon to line jar lids.

It's frustrating to get in place, on anything bigger it would be extremely frustrating.

You can get 12" x 12" x .010" PTFE sheet for $6 + shipping.
a 12" x 36" piece would be about $30 shipped to me.

I use a mason jar lid insert and x-acto knife to make cap liners.

.01mm converts to about.0003 thousands of an inch. If my math is correct that's super thin. A human hair is around .004 thou

0.1 not 0.01! Still pretty damn thin though. That's 0.004" or 4 thousands of an inch or 0.0005 furlongs if you prefer.

Ahh yes sorry misread that. Yes .004 is thin. Human hair thin. I can't believe it don't tear when u tighten the lid. That's a great product

Just work on building up low wines and feints. You’ll get it done. Once you master your rig and tweak how to optimize mashing, fermenting, stripping, spirit runs, and aging: you WILL be rewarded.
