Buddha's Hand

Post by Bushman »

Anyone ever flavor with this lime? I had some in a Green tea Apertif and it totally enhanced the flavor. You just take one slice of zest from the lime and add it to your glass then swirl. It's called Buddha's Hand.

No I can't source them, but hanger one makes a really good infused vodka with them.

RD, I had never seen one before I got to Napa and actually saw them growing on the plant. It is very strong and would think it would be great infused in vodka.

Heck I go to napa and Calastoga all the time. Next time I'm there I'll try to find some. It really does make one of the best citrus infused vodkas I've ever had.

RD, they had plants growing outside at the Charbay distillery off Spring Mountain Road. I just googled it and although these plants were outside they are an indoor plant and you can order them on line. Think it is what I might do when I get home.

You have opened a wound. I tried to grow a Buddha plant indoors, I pampered it followed all the instructions and it died on me after pruning it so it would branch out and not just grow up and be skinny.

Sorry Bushy.
I just found the thread where you said it didn't work out.
Edit: Maybe this gourd will take your mind off of it.

It's a great Citrus, and the peel is very perfumed - works really well in a Gin. It's generally not cheap, and a PITA to peel too! Alongside Yuzu and Makrut, they are probably the most expensive citrus fruits on the market here in Brazil.
