Hi All,
Hope everyone is doing well, after a long while, I've decided to make a racking can after some encouragement from another helpful member, Mars.
I've not used it yet but I'm sure it'll work and here's spec:
15mm end cap
15>28mm reducer
28mm end cap
10mm tube
Precess:
Mark 28mm end cap 1st, make sure your reasonably happy with spacing.
I 1st guestimated centre, then placed a 1 penny coin over and drew a circle with a sharpie.
Then on circle, marked NESW, then split with 4 more dots.
Next drill center hole to desired pipe ie 10mm for my design, then drill outer 8x holes before attaching tube. Job done.
In reality, those outer holes can be much larger, as I say, design is for an easy build.

I know what a racking cane is, but from what I see in the pics, I don't understand what this does. Is this an unfinished 'auto siphoning' head or something like that?

Hi Salt, yes it is just a tip as was pictured, the correct tube length still needs soldering to the center hole.Salt Must Flow wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 12:02 pm I know what a racking cane is, but from what I see in the pics, I don't understand what this does. I have edited the original to make it clearer. Tip is offset so as to keep more level when tilting the barrel and trying to avoid the trub.
Then it'll attach a small pump to it using a flexible hose.
Greggn you've got to ensure the liquid flows anticlockwise just as when you pull the plug in the bath.
