somewhere in the woods

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

How long did take? With the thump attached I’m guessin’ right at 6 hours for a slow, thoughtful run and right about 12-13 quarts of good liquor to make cuts from after airin’.

Not sure where you are coming from with your last two comments as this forum is set up for fellow like minded people sharing and helping each other. Thus one sharing their knowledge in my opinion is not being a know it all but one member helping another.

It's been 8 years, friend. This thread has been going on for all but 4 months I have been a member here. I remember when it all went down. Got to let it go. A couple of comments 8 years ago and every 6 months you come back with another crack at people that have long gone moved on and forgot about you. You might as well do them the same favor.

I'm glad you're doing well and happy. Post updates ya like, you got no enemies here unless you want them.

another season is upon me and I plan on keeping it simple with apple/fruit this year.i just going to run with a pot still and not a thumper first couple of runs just because I haven't run it like that in awhile.being in the woods all night with the sounds of the night and the moon shining bright is just how it should be.shine all night sleep all day.

another season is behind me here in Ohio, great weather for the moon to shine bright.i made some great shine from apple juice and apple cider with no sugar added at all.the yield is slightly lower but it tastes just like good shine to me.
this was the first year I left my setup somewhere in the woods and it not bright at this point.but nothing a good cleaning will take care of,I using for the first time the citric acid method.i hope to get before and after pictures.i getting old and many trips carrying all the components is very cumbersome so I left all I could and only carry what I had to.i think next I may find a spot closer to the house as it's thick enough to conceal the still site.i just carve out another spot in the woods, only thing I would have to do is get water to the site I choose...
our deer hunting season is quickly approaching and as you know I love to deer hunt and I want to get some squirrels for fried/baked squirrel and some gravy.
