Hello,
Mike here. I'm originally from the states, Pennsylvania, but I have lived on 4 continents and speak several languages. I'm currently living in Bali, Indonesia, where making beers and spirits is very appealing, since the quality of the stuff available here is very low. I've been interested in general fermentation and doing lots of experiments with different foods and beverages for about 5 years now, but it's only been a little over a year since I've been brewing beers and about 6 months distilling (despite being a craft beer head and appreciator of the world's fine spirits for a long time). I'm here to learn more and progress more as a distiller.
I've got the reflux and pot still heads for my 65L brewzilla setup. I'm mainly interested in botanical and base spirits (I guess we can consider whiskey a botanical spirit too since it's aged in wood). Big fan of good pastis, anisettes and scotch.
Aside from my interest in fermentation and spirits, I am a linguist and a translator/interpreter.
Greetings from Bali
