Perfect...jonnys_spirit wrote: โSat Jan 20, 2024 2:21 pm This looks good Demy! I recently made a Grand Marnier style orange liquer with jaggery/panela instead of sugar and had a glass last night when I saw this thread. I think I'll try your recipe next.
Corn Plane ordered

Looks like a good tool....I've never used it, I'm usually good with a sharp knife but I think that's a good tool, thanks.Saltbush Bill wrote: โSat Jan 20, 2024 12:39 pm For the last ten years I've been using one of these when peeling oranges , limes or lemons for distilling purposes.
You won't get any white pith at all.
They are called a Corn Scraper or Plane, and can be bought for very little from Chemist shops, I guess you guys call them a Drug Store. They beat other methods hands down in my opinion, Ive tried most other methods.

Excellent tool, I modified it slightly to make it bite a little more. Thanks saltbush.

Looks like a good tool for the job. You probably get more oils with that than I do with my micro plane.

I believe there is no better peeler than the Brabantia. It kicks some serious arse in a highly focused and precise way. Like Lucy Liu. If I had to peel for my life, this is the peeler Iโd pull out of my sock.
