Sounds like appeal is gathering steam.
I hope it proves in favor to home distillers.
Living just N of the 49th, it could work in our favor as Canaudian laws have fallen in line with US policy for a long time.
Cheers

Maybe I’ve missed it, but I have been impressed at how well everyone has behaved on this subject. I really haven’t seen any political content here. Yes, the party of the judge has been mentioned, but that’s about it. No discussion, disagreement, not even any snarky or disrespectful comments from either side of the isle.

As with most things in life, it’s probably only political if you choose to take it that way. I chose not to as much as possible.

There are bipartisan efforts underway. Check out this bill in New Hampshire: https://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_s ... &inflect=2

It's worth looking at the text of this bill (now law). It about 3 paragraphs of plain English, crystal clear. Though there is an odd repetition of points A and B, apparently clarified by C and D, it's obvious a household of 1 person can run 100 gallons of wash a year, 2 or more can run 200 gallons per year.

Personal use only. No selling.

The end.

That's how laws are written in small New England states. Maybe it will catch on.

Although it is clear, I would rather see the limit be gallons of alcohol at X abv. On two hundred gallons of beer that can vary greatly if it is 5% cider you are distilling or a 12% sugar wash for vodka. It would make a more even playing field for those that are chasing quality, thus limiting the wash/mash abv, vs those chasing as much drink as possible which may be pushing a 16% wash regardless of quality.

There are no record keeping requirements, no permits, no inspections. Big Brother won't be looking over anyone's shoulder. Kind of how government was supposed to work.
