Hello

Post by Otter »

Hello from the Manawatu, New Zealand
My late stepfather left me his Air Still, so looking for info on how to use it. Had previously been to his local brewshop and have the turbo sugar etc, which having read some of your posts, realised that was a mistake. Have not used it yet.
Have to admit I am a fan of liquers (my fav being Drambouie) so would like to look primarily at that.
I do have an orchard on my postage stamp section, so have access to a variety of fruit, as well as cider apples.

Welcome to the rabbit hole!

I haven't used an Air Still myself, but they look like a great entry to the hobby. They also lend themselves well to experimenting on things like liquors. Remember that, as you dial in your fermentation game, you can use low-end store-bought spirits as a base while you figure out macerations and botanicals.

Welcome to the club 🍻. Ferment that fruit. No sugar though, it'll make you a good sip
I drink so much now,on the back of my license it's a list of organs I need.

Welcome to the forum.

Plenty of options here for fruit, from brandies to infusions. Plenty of different yums to be had.
