A family tradition (to be continued)

Post by GrannyDaddy4 »

Distance relatives on mom's side have a long history of whiskey making. My grandfather's double first cousin spent a year and a day in an Alabama prison. The local sheriff in The Free State of Winston persuaded him to sell some of his product to the local druggist to use in medicine. BUSTED!
Two years ago my daughter in law, with my approval (actually my indifference), located my father's family. I never met by dad, and I only had two pictures and my birth certificate. I met my dad's family last year for the first time. He was one of 13 children (all of which served in the WWII or Korean war including the women). Two of my uncles got caught making liquor (1970's) because they were traveling to Georgia where they purchase 600 pounds of sugar each trip. This year I met the cousin that has continued this tradition (hobby level). I learned during this year's reunion that he always brings plenty of his product to give to our kinfolks. I had been told by others about the quality of his product, but I was skeptical. Every word was true it is the best! He has been practicing his art for twenty five years. I started laughing when he told me about a conversation he had with a lady selling "moonshine" in Gatlinburg Tennessee. When she asked him how he liked her whiskey " he told her that he had thrown away better whiskey."

Lucky me, thanks to my daughter in law, I met a very large family of good, highly intelligent, educated people that makes me proud to call them kinfolks.

Perhaps, but neither John Law nor this forum tolerates selling unless you’re licensed. The thing is, stings just show you were predisposed to do the act. That’s not to tolerate entrapment, which is cops putting the idea in your head when you hadn’t thought of it first. For example, wife wants to kill her husband and unknowingly hires a cop versus an agent convincing a wife to do so, so she could inherit. My 2c. :eugeek:
