I started watching Justin Wilson later in his career and he was a total gem. From him I learned to measure a 1/2tsp of salt in my hand and confess to copying his past-tense saying of “so, what I’m gonna did…”
“Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite, and furthermore, always carry a small snake.”

I had the pleasure of knowing Justin Wilson personally. He and my grandpa were friends. He was a genuine, saint of a man. Great guy and he could cook a little too.

I’m not much for celebrities in general, but that’s a wonderful memory to have! I grew up watching him on TV out of New Orleans, and I would love to have been able to meet him. To this day, whenever I think of my love for Cajun cuisine I can’t help thinking of him and his legacy.Rusty Ole Bucket wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 11:14 am I had the pleasure of knowing Justin Wilson personally. Got ta say, he’s my go to. Keep one of his books in the pantry. Favorite line was him reaching for a spice an grabbing the wrong one; “what you doin’ here? Take youself outta here an don brought you back”
