Nutella liqueur

Post by EricTheRed »

So, we ran across this recipe a while back and finally got around to making it.

Original Recipe
* 300 gm Nutella
* 200 ml cream
* 300 ml whole milk
* 150 gm castor sugar
* 200 ml vodka

Process
* mix all liquids together except for the vodka
* heat to dissolve the sugar
* let cool
* add vodka
* bottle

Modified and better recipe
* 320 gm Nutella
* 300 ml cream
* 200 ml whole milk
(dump the sugar - not needed)
* 100 ml Highproof (90%+)

Process
* Heat all liquids (except vodka) to homogenize the nutella
* Stir will and then let cool overnight
* Pour into tall 1.5L container
* Hit with immersion blender
* add the vodka
* Hit it again with the immersion blender
* bottle

For both methods you need to
* keep in fridge
* shake well before pouring

the modified recipe isn't as sickly sweet, has enhanced taste and is a little thicker due to more cream and less liquid from the vodka

Looks good, might have to try this on our annual winter trip to the mountains for a week in a condo. It would replace our traditional duck farts.

Sounds like a lovely recipe. I was curious about a hazelnut or nutella recipe and this sounds like a great one to try. When I collect enough highproof neutral, I'll give it a go!

Cheers!

Might be more of a Carmel flavor trading the vodka for whiskey. Ever try it?

I tried this a couple of days ago, most got drunk New Years Eve.
Quite tasty , but did modify a litte by adding more milk so that it wasn't quite as thick in consistency.
