It is mid-January, so we would normally expect the normal 'dead-of-winter' temps [ie, -15F to -20F] here in Maine.

We are seeing an unusually mild winter, nothing below -5F so far.

It's sunny, and 48°f here in the northwest

Is Chauncy playing in the snow on Bourbon Street today?

I'm just north of Lake Maurepas, Chauncy is definitely playing in snow today. It's crazy, I'm pulling up on 60 and I've never seen fine dry powder snow here. IF we do get anything it's wet sloppy snow with sleet. We had 7" here, unreal.

Time for a turkey sammich, tomato soup and some rum to warm up.

I don't know where this is or how rare an occurrence but I love the look of this.

Don't see anything like that in QLD, Australia.

Guessing it was welcomed ?

It's never happened like this before, we set all kinds of records today. We even set a record for the furthest south a blizzard warning has ever been issued in the States.

It was very beautiful, surreal, and since there wasn't a freezing rain component it wasn't destructive. It'll only stick around a day or so, but it was fun.

We're back to normal next week, 50°F to 70°F. Just a freak storm that's way out of the norm.
