Im piggybacking off of my other thread so I apologize if it seems like Im making 2 of the same threads but I aint.
I found a local company who sells brand new PE-HD2 marked 55 gallon blue drums. However when I bought them and they were delivered they were marked "REC-NOT FOR FOOD OR DRINK"
Now Ive read around here long enough to know people ferment in these barrels all the time. And yes it may be marked that, would there be ANY reason it says that other than the fact it aint FDA approved? Let me stress these barrels are factory brand new. One other user suggested it may be put there as a cover their own ass type of thing, but I dont know the ins and outs.

There ain't no damn tellin'!
If it's got hide or hair, I can ride it.
Wheels or tracks, I can drive it.
Rotor or fixed wings, I can fly it.
And if it's grain or fruit, i can make a drop outta it!

I only use food grade containers but since the barrels are new it wouldn’t be marked because of previous chemicals used in the barrel so my guess is the dye or material from the barrel may bleed into your product.

My concern would be the "Rec" part of the drum. Would that possibly be reconditioned?
