Found the thread about Shady's Sugar Shine. Scaled it down to 12 gallons so I can ferment in 2x 6.5 gallon buckets.
I boiled 77 oz of water. Turned the heat off and put in 5 tablespoons of instant, dry yeast. Bellarise brand from sams club, $6 for 2 lbs.
Put that pot aside and let it cool down a bit.
In another pot I dumped in about a gallon of water and 8 lbs of white sugar. Topped off with as much water as the pot would hold which was about 1/2 gallon.
Heated that up around 110 degrees F and stirred to help dissolve the sugar.
While the sugar was heating up I added 5 crushed Super B complex vitamins to the boiled yeast. I also added a pinch of Epsom salts and 2 tablespoons of DAP. I divided the boiled yeast pot evenly into my 2x 6.5 gallon buckets.
I dumped the heated sugar water into one bucket and started another batch. Again, about 1.5 gallons of water to 9 lbs sugar. Heat to 110F or so and dump in the other bucket of boiled yeast.
I did all the above in my kitchen. Carried the buckets down to my basement and let them sit while I putzed around a bit.
Went back and checked temp. Was around 110F in both buckets. Stirred the heck out of them with a paint stirrer in my drill. Took water directly from my tap to top both buckets up to within a couple inches of the top. When getting water from the tap I varied the temperature to get both buckets as close to 85F as possible.
Ended up at just about 86F in both buckets after filling them. Stirred with my drill again. Added 1 cup of crushed oyster shells to each bucket. Suspended the shells in a knee high stocking tied to the bucket handle. Sprinkled just under 3 tablespoons of yeast on top of each bucket.
Put the buckets in my basement freezer. Freezer is unplugged. Door is just barely cracked open. One seed starter mat for heat under each bucket. One seed mat sitting in the bottom of the freezer.
Finished the wash on Saturday about noon. Checked it Monday at 6AM and it's bubbling away. Temp is 89F.
Open to critique on my process, tips on how to do things more efficient, etc..
Did I do my first wash correctly?

I like to grind up all of my Vitamin B capsules into an ultra fine powder using a cheap coffee grinder I found at a local Salvation Army store. I know the weight of X number of capsules in grams so I can easily weigh out how much I need for each batch or any size recipe.
I weigh out all of my nutrients (Vitamin B, DAP, Epsom Salts, Citric Acid).
I weigh out yeast for boiling, boil water, whisk in the yeast and let it sit.
I weigh out pitching yeast, add it to some 110F water to hydrate for at least 30 min.
I dump all the sugar into my fermenter. I bring X amount of water to boil, dump it onto the sugar, mix to dissolve and top the fermenter up with water. After you've done this a few times, you'll learn EXACTLY how much boiling water to use so that when you're done, the resulting temp will be 85F.
I now dump in all the nutrients, thoroughly mix with drill & mixing paddle (mix very well to oxygenate). Test PH to confirm, but it's always the same (5.2 - 5.6). Pitch yeast and suspend bag of Calcium Carbonate (Marble Rocks).

I'm notoriously lazy, instead of crushing the vitamins I add water to the container and set it in the fridge.
When I want to use the vits, I give the pill bottle a shake and pour a guesstimated amount into the fermenter.

Looks good to me, 1 thing is mention:
1)
You might be able to skip the warming water to dissolve sugar step. Just dump the sugar in the fermenter and just before you add the live yeast hit it with the paint stirrer then to dissolve. I do that in my 55gal drums. You might spend some extra time stirring but you save the water heating time and effort

You really don't need a cup of oyster shells per bucket. That is a lot of calcium carbonate for 6 gallons. Not that it will hurt but a 4th of that would be plenty. I do perhaps half a cup in a hop bag in a 40 gallon ferment.

As far as nutrients, I see that the OP crushed some Super B complex vitamins and added some DAP to the sugar wash to be fermented.
Could you just use Fermaid K
