Pure foreshots and heads redistilling ?
I would like to take my foreshots and heads and clean them further, reduce the water content actually. I want purer foreshots to use as a solvent in other applications. How would you folk go about this.

A reflux still would be the best way. Stabilise for 30 mins then slow take off.

Dilute to 40% ABV, pour it all in the boiler and do a spirit run with a decent reflux column. You should get 95% ABV from start to finish.

Dilute to 40% or less. Add slaked lime to at least pH 9 to precipitate any esters, rest overnight or longer.
Reflux still it.
Reflux still it.

All the above.
I'll add, take at a heads cut when redistilling, end the run when tails begin to appear so any nasties won't pollute what pure alcohol is needed for. Yes there can be tails hiding in even in a diluted forshot and heads run depending on what the high proof alcohol is used for. Don't be greedy.
