I'm pulling together parts for my steam distillation setup and have not settled on a wand tip / spreader. I searched this sub forum and it looks like there are a number of options but I haven't seen much comparing them head-to-head.
- Steal mesh/bazooka/washer hose cover
- Copper pipe drilled, sliced or crimped
- Silicone cap with slit
- Venturi tip
Did I miss any?
Right now I'm leaning towards using 2 silicone caps, but have not settled on anything. Any advise? Some of the factors I'm considering are safety/clog prevention, power capacity, efficiency in heat distribution, sound/how loud and how easy to build.
I'll be using the wand primarily for stripping mash, but also for mashing sometimes. My setup is a 5500w element for the steam generator to a ~20g mash tun for mashing and stripping. Any advise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
