Thanks PalC this is a 16g copper milkcan scratch and dent from MileHi. I don’t believe they source the copper ones of this size anymore but OakStills probably has similar if you don’t want to build.

Cheers,

Finally found a pic of my still from 2010, Pretty Bok (looked better without the jacket :) , thought it was lost years ago.

It will be soon enough. My ambitions are rapidly out-growing the old girls capabilities. It will be the "this is where it all started" conversation piece.

+1 I'd definitly have that on display as well. If it were a 50 or 100L model I'd probably never leave the still room. :)

I didn’t tap the first time but after your post I did and wow, great photo inside. A Rolls, she is a thing of beauty.

Yeah that's a lovely looking still, not hard to sit around and look at!

Got to take that plastic tubing off the spout though.

Food grade silicone, platinum cured, whatever that means.

Yeah. I’m gonna add an inline parrot next and set ‘er up not on the floor of my garage, though I gotta say having the floor drain right there is awful convenient. Cleaning after a goopy oak whiskey took all of five minutes.

My still is a lamp. I have a friend who is a custom lamp maker. I only run the still in the winter (November to March). From March to next November it is a lamp.
He made the lamp topper with a 2" TriClamp fitting on the bottom that I can attach to the top of the still. He made the red water facet handle a light switch. Turning the facet handle turns the lamp on.
I asked him to make it in a Steam Punk theam.

Awesome, Stump Lake! Innovative and pretty.

In my country, just owning a component of a still is a crime but I suspect it’s mainly condensers and onions/helmets that really fall under that category and I’ve never heard of anyone in modern history being fined for it. But I could see infront of me arguing with the police officer, ”it’s a lamp, I tell you, it’s a lamp!”. :)

Ha, thanks guys. I'm proud of my lamp, he did a great job. Also I didn't mention the bulbs are the old Edison style bulb. Really adds to the Steam Punk look.
Yeah Pal I don't far I would get with the "No, it's a lamp" argument. Hopefully I never have to find out.

Stump, nice setup! The red valve sets it off IMO. I love an industrial steam punk-y look, especially when it's functional. I try to incorporate that look myself when I can, especially when it adds to functionality and strength. Great idea!

+1 I looked that Pic up and down b4 reading the post. "Where in the hell did he hide the condenser and take off?"
Wicked job. I'd park that in the living room.
