Got a lucky freebie today!

It was a bit mucky and smelly (Old syrup) but a good few rinses and a hard scrubadubdub soon sorted that out!

It's a 200L capacity so makes a perfect partner for my big stripper.

I've just dug out a 28mm valve to fit at the base, but Mrs Moose just came out and got a look, she's not too happy about having a "Fat White Tank" in the garden, so I'm going to have to get creative to make it blend in somehow...
Any suggestions? :D

I've seen some rain barrels painted in a garden by an artist.

If you're lucky to find an artist that likes your product, maybe you can barter.

 Nice! The Federales come snooping, they'll walk right by it. You could put a decoy gutter downspout from the roof right up to the lid.

That’s a cool idea, Zach,
I’ve never come across handpainted barrels before.

I did a Distillery tour about 10 years ago, I bought a couple of cartons of handpainted bottles of them. I use them to bottle brandy for gifts.

You know what, she might be kinda happy with a pretty painted one like that, great shout Zach!

Now I just need to find an artist. Anyone got Banksy's number?

Picked up an antique Tantalus today from the local auction. I gotta clean it up still but, wow, it's gonna be a nice piece on the bar.

I haven't heard of it either, I had also never heard the story of Tantalus, that would suck. I got it cleaned up but the brass is brown, i dont want highly polished looking but I would the brass tone back

Nice find, Corncracker. Brass, wood, and decanters. They don't make them like that anymore. Now it's all plastic garbage, destined to fall apart in no time. Enjoy.

That's a nice find. It will look great on a bar or liquor cabinet. The decanters are obviously cut lead crystal, Look at the bottom of them for an acid etched makers mark.

Picked up 6 corny kegs, two keggles with valves, a 5 gal carboy, propane burner and a full CO2 bottle. The price was FREE of marketplace. Not sure what I will do with the keggles. I really just wanted the corny kegs to store feints. As my grapes mature and I start making wine I may age some wine in the corny kegs and it would be nice to be able to put CO2 in them.

That is a good deal, cant beat free. I got a lot of stuff from 2 brewers that gave up the craft. I still have not used the Co2

I am always on the lookout for storage containers, glass or steel. On Marketplace I found these two beauties, 10 liter old beer bottles. Perfect to store feints in or collect in when stripping. Only 5USD per bottle.

I found an 80 liter Hungarian wine barrel for $100 that is in the original shrink wrap packaging. My vineyard will likely produce 40 to 50 gallons this year not enough for a standard barrel. These smaller barrels are much harder to find.

Also purchased a 5 gallon American Oak barrel for $85 with a #4 char. I looked inside with an endoscope and it looks clean and like it not been used.
