If it wasn't for bad luck. I wouldn't have any luck at all.
It just makes you work harder for it.

My wife gets on me all the time. If bad things is all you think about happening. That's all that will happen. Hell that is all that happens. Don't mater if I think positive or not. Murphy's law is pinned to my ass. One of these days I will git to shake it off. Until then I just got to work around it. Somehow someway.

Nobody said doing stuff yourself is easy, just think of the money your saving doing it yourself and the fun your having doing so, there's alot of people that don't have one tittely wink of knowledge of fabricating anything, don't let a stupid regulator hinder your build, you can find used ones a dime a dozen, there all over craigslist in my part of town.

I think you need to give your wife a bunch of flowers.

Maybe some chockolalate. You know, that brown stuff chicks like. (flowers= $5, choc= $4 =cheap)

She might feel sympathetic and buy you some off-the-shelf stuff to tide you over.

If she dosn't get where your coming from, just keep swearing- like you lost a finger. Or got hot solder on your ball bag.

Eventually, she'll work out Mr P is thirsty.

None of this is helping your build. But I'm too far away to invite you around. If you want to come down under, there is somewhere for you to stay if it gets too much.

Since I don't have a torch and can't work with the copper. I decided to start on the wood projects for the brew/distill room. Starting with the brew stand. It's not my best work. But I'm working with pallets. They are within my budget. Free! And these are nice pallets. But still a little rough. But here is the top of my brew stand. Got to find something to use for legs now. And the second pic is the pile o pallets I'm working with.

Jeez mate, lookin' sweet.

But I hate to think of how many pallets you're going to chew up making box's for all those copper fittings

Get that reg fixed bloke.

I don't know how available they are to you, but a reg overhaul kit does not cost all that much here ($35?ish). They only contain the diaphragm, body and stem O ring.

I had our welder fabricator at work check the welding supply house. They want $70 to repair it. :wtf: He didn't get the price if the kit. And he has my regulator. I can gi get a cheapy from harbor freight for $40. But its a cheapy? And our welder thinks he mite have an extra one at home. So I'm going to wait and see what he has. Mainly cause I don't have the $40 to spend right now.

Got the legs built and lower shelf support done. Got to figure out what to use for the shelf now. I went cheapy on the legs. 2X4s are a lot cheaper the 4X4s are.

Ok got the lower shelf done on the brew stand. And got the fermenter stand done. I currently trying to decide if this is where I'm going to put it. Or if I'm going to put it in the other room. I think it mite just stay here. I originally wasn't going to make this area my brew room. But the wife didn't like the idea of me taking over most of the laundry room. So she suggested I move over here. After looking at it. I think this will work out better. The wall right next to the brew stand was a concrete shower room. It has a floor drain and a shower faucet and head. I think I'm going to cut that wall down to the first row of blocks. Then put a filler row where the entrance is. And make like a mop sink. Replace the shower faucet with a hot/cold hose faucet. So I will have access to water and a drain. I will be able to take the fermenters and BOPs in it and clean them out. I mite even put a utilities sink in there too. For washing the smaller stuff. All I need now is some counter space. So next on the list another bench but counter height.

Mr Piss the build is looking great. Your getting some impressive copper work done with only hand tools. I have access to a full workshop and even being careful shit happens all to often.

I'm interested in how you have done you gin basket - sitting above the condenser and thus using downward vapour extraction. This type of vapour extraction interests me and I've an inclination to make one. I would be very interested to know if you have you any comments on its extraction performance vs the performance of baskets more commonly found in the column.

Cheers

Whoa, the misses prolly took one look at that 150 gallons of fermenters, and wondered if you done gone off the deep end.
...Got plans for all those, or are ya saving one for me? ;)

Any updates on the metalwork?

Thanks Rock. The Orange one is mine the red one is the wifes. In 06 they went to the blacked out motor. So hers isn't. But I will be doing it to hers too. Both are pretty close engines wise. Just her rev limeter is set higher and ing is hotter. I don't have a tuner. But hers has 91 HP at the rear wheel. So I'm guessing upper 80s for mine. Lots of fun 0 to 100. But after that not much there. I'm bumbed we haven't had them out at all this year. And my tags just expired. And stupid Kansas you have to pay all your personal property taxes the same month. For everything you own. So all our tags are due. And priorities suck.

One of these days we are going to do a west coast run. I have family in Seattle. And I want to ride down the coast. Maybe after I win the lotto. Then I can come meet some of you folks over that way.

Yeah, look, if I'm going to be wrong, I like to do it properly.

I like yours PP. The black motor is classic. I like Mrs P's too.

I can get my mrs on the back, but I don't think she will ever ride. You are a lucky man.
