Not saying that there are not many beautiful place across the Great USA. Just Paradise has always been sort of tropical to me. But to each his/her own. Enjoy your paradise where ever it might be.

Its hard to argue with that BT. Especially in the winter here. I love a nice hot vacation. Anywhere warm is paradise.

There is no place I would rather be in August than the NW.

hmm... Alaska is beautiful in the summer too.

Winter or summer, rain (rain and more rain) or (occasional) sun, the NW has been my home nearly all my life. I can't imagine living anywhere else.

After growing up in Brooklyn I joined the navy and spent a winter in A school at the Great Lakes Training Center. On the west shore of Lake Michigan. Nasty place, we went 35 days in a row w/o going above zero. Minus 25 was the coldest. Water in the WW 2 barrack toilets had a coating of ice in the morning.

After that I have this thing about being COLD. Now I'm in Paradise where it rarely goes over 95 in the shade or 65 at night.

Some really nice pics there mogur, and a really nice one from BM can't wait to see some of MR's pics, shure looks like fun  My girl friend and I just got back from a short 5 day road trip, went over the North Cascades Hwy, then across the Okanogan through Sandpoint Id to Montana then South to St Maries Id to visit friends then came home through the Palous, the girl friend had'nt ever seen that, so I gave her the full meal deal on Hwy 26 all the way to Vantage :D She's seen enough wheat now but it was a 180 from our usual Olympic Mt or Hood Canal camp outs. Have fun on the water guys

My girl got here on Tuesday. (thats why I have been a little quiet) She brought me a USB cord. Here are a few pics. I have not been taking as many as I should. I am still in Roche Harbor through to night then over to Friday Harbor for the weekend.

I was hoping the pictures of the Eagles were better. I will include one. How do you post larger images?

Need a deckhand? I mix drinks and scrub decks.

Great photos, and the eagle picture is awesome. I think you have to zip an image larger than 800 pixels, but then, I'm just guessing. Bushman, how did you post that panorama of Stuart Island?

After a beautiful boat ride this morning we arrived in Friday Harbor about 11 AM. We did a little shopping than spent the afternoon in the sun with a few drinks. It was a beautiful day in paradise. 80 degrees and sunny. I cooked salmon on the grill. We are going to head out to the local bar for dancing and drinks. I wish you were all here! damn my girl is sexy in a bikini. actually I dont wish you were here. You would only be looking at my girl and drinking my booze.

Wow that's beautiful, where I live you could watch your dog run away for 10 miles, flat as a pancake.

We are still hanging out at Friday Harbor. It was packed over the weekend with tourists coming and going on the ferries. I put a fresh coat of paint on my decks yesterday. Today I will paint the cockpit and engine hatches. Woo Hoo. The excitement of working on my boat. I find it relaxing. Here are some pictures of the marina.

Peachy is flying home tomorrow and I may have to fly back to Seattle this week on business. If I do I will just leave the boat here. After that I am heading to Suchia Island to anchor up and do some crabbing.

Was wondering why Mt. Baker looked the same size in your first photo as it does here. Google Earth says that it is 56.75 miles from here to the peak of Mt. Baker. It's also exactly 56.75 miles from the ferry dock in Friday Harbor to the peak. Cheers to the triangle. I know, I'm a geek... but I can change... if I have to... I guess. Nice crab OMD. I can tell by the dark color it is a nice hard shell crab. 7+ inches.

I have to fly home Friday for business. My boat will have to wait until I return. I am getting bored with Friday harbor. I have been getting some work done on the boat but that is not why I am here.

My son and I should be cruising next week, crabing and fishing where possible. I have to be back on the 10th.
its a tough life but someones has to do it. I am drinking store bought crap. yuk.

The last Hurrah!!

Today is going to be a beautiful day in Seattle. I am taking out friends and family for a boat ride today on lake Union. It is probably our last chance to enjoy the beautiful fall weather on the water. The Seahawks are playing on Monday night this week so it a god day to go out.

I spice rubbed three racks of ribs last night. They will go on the BBQ for two or three hours of smoke before finishing in the boat oven. This is my boat on anchor when I was in Wescott bay.
