I found a slightly more in depth listing for the same machine.
grinder specs.png
Looking at the specs, it looks like its designed for a standard household 240v plug. (Though not standard in the US)

Thanks, I feel better knowing its not going to come with a 110v plug for a wall outlet. I reckon the 3k is when its under a heavy load like grinding corn and the 2200 is its normal running load
I think I'll go home and fire up my still, it might not make me feel better but, I bet it will

3k is likely the start up... 2200 is normal operation

I did see this online, I've heard of it but, these folks didnt even modify the garbage disposal just listed it as a grain grinder and put it out there
I can not believe they are trying to sell InSinkErators over there in the US as grain mills…

It simply would not work either.

They work pretty well. Though i have not seen one run dry as a grain mill. I would also suspect that heat/lubrication may be an issue with no liquids running through it. When i first saw one, it was shown as a 'Hillbilly Margarita Maker'. Add your water, turn it on, add grains and let it blend and mix. I've been thinking of building one into a dedicated YLAY 'mash' barrel.

I dont know if this will help anyone out but I picked this up from vevor for roughly $150 USD. Made a 50 bag of cracked corn into corn meal in 15 minutes. Its adjustable for coarse or fine grind. A little dusty but works like a champ

I have been to so many houses to fix the disposal because it was jammed with a little hard piece of something wedged in there, usually bone or little aquarium rocks. I would think that it would not last long before the bearings went bad, its just not made for that kind of abuse

How many watts is it and is it 110 or 220? Did it come with a cord?

I ended up getting this one, it was $100, and grinds 1lbs of whole corn in 22 seconds using the smallest screen.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D1Q4W9 ... asin_title

Overall im pretty happy with it, although using the finest screen still does not get the grain as fine as I want. For you pot still guys it would be fine.

I was going back and forth between the 2 styles, its just that I've always seen the kind I got in the hbs's I've been in. I figure those things really do a lot of grinding so it should last a lifetime for home use.

I went back and forth on the two as well... Honestly I dont think it matters, both seem to be well reviewed and do a good job.

As much as I like the vertical one I got, I think the horizontal one would have served me a bit better since you can actually grind to flour

3000W and 110V and comes with a cord. The on off switch is located on the back of the little electrical box behind the hopper.

The situation is, its 110, 3k watts regular wall plug, says altering the configuration will void the warranty. I will get a suitable breaker and wall receptical to accommodate the 3k and using the heavy wire thats already ran to the box next to my controller, its about a 10 foot run from the breaker.

Corn Cracker, mine has no problem running on a 20A circuit in the garage on a 50ft, 8 guage extension cord running outside. I think the 3000W pull is an exaggeration. Ran for 15 minutes and nothing felt overly warm and wasn't struggling to start up and run. I had the little flow regulator plate completely out to see what it could handle. No struggling at all. Ate through 50lb of cracked corn like nothin. I think you'll be pleased with it. I know i am.

I have the first one pictured - I was initially concerned about the power draw as it was speced > 20a. Plugged into a 20a circuit without any issues. Burns through 50lb of whole corn under 10m - could be less than that if I didn't have to swap out buckets. It is dusty - I clip cloth rags around it to contain the dust. It also throws the last bit of grains flying as it empties - I just put my scoop in the hopper to contain it.
Sure beats the Kitchen Aid grinder I was using for years that would take an hour+ for 50 lbs of cracked corn! Highly recommend - only downside is the dust when running indoors.

Envy. I really want it but the price never falls below 160USD, which is what I am willing to pay. The type Bolverk shared is sold for 107USD, on the fence there.

But, I am clenching my fist so that there's no pulling the trigger. I will test my Corona with a drill first.

I am not one to say no to another gadget. I have broken one corona already and replaced it. That already is eating into a significant share of the cost of one of these more respectable mills. And yet, with 5 or 6 kg of corn, and a drill, the corona plows through very well. In all cases I will not buy a third.

The no shipping fee at Walmart is what made me get it, it was a bit cheaper so, I got the
3k w. My place has some age on it, built in the 70s so,I dont push electrical safety too far is why im concerned with watts and amps

What's the finest grind you can do on that Vevor? Will it go as fine as flour that you but from the supermarket for baking?

Cracked corn i ran through the vevor. That's not the finest it will go either. I've put all of the HBB grains through it as well. I imagine it would grind to flour at its tightest adjustment. Planning a batch of HBB this weekend. I'll let you know how fine it goes if you're interested.

Couldn't help it. I found a second hand grain mill on Marketplace for 70 bucks. It's not the type I wanted but more than half the price. 1300w 220v. It's the cheapo version without the recipient. I won't use it inside the house anyway so I think I can live with some dust.

Picked up the grain mill today. Boy it was dirty. I had to give it and all the parts a good ole clean. Here it is drying. Will be trying it outside tomorrow, it's bloody -17C outside now. Brrrrrr...

It comes with 4 sieves with different hole sizes. Which one should I use for coarse ground cornmeal, do you think? I suppose the one with the biggest holes are for making cracked corn, maybe also the second biggest? Should I grind the full corns to cracked first and then grind the cracked corn to cornmeal in a second pass?

I ran mine, its wheat so I had opened just enough so the plates weren't touching, about ⅓of a turn, and ran a couple of handfuls
20260214_155726.jpg
It seemed to be eating too much of the husks so i backed it off ⅔ a turn more and it was barely getting touched so I tightened it ⅓ of a turn and it seemed perfect
20260214_160217.jpg

Me being me, I decided to sift this pound or so of wheat to make flour, it took 3 sifts, last one was a finer screen to get a couple of cups of flour
20260214_162900.jpg
Idk how the bottom pic is in the mix again
