Ongoing Banana Madness

Oh, dear G_d!!! Do you not realize that bananas are probably the most intensively pesticide-treated fruit that you will ever find in the grocery store???

And ANY of that residual pesticide is present in the peels that you want to use for your wash???

Banana peels are NASTY!!! (unless you can find truly "organically" grown)

I've never heard that before, maybe they keep that very quiet. The tropical islands that I've lived in and visited didn't use any pesticides on bananas. Have you got a link?

I grow my own, so don't have to worry about it.

If you grow your own, no problem. As for commercial bananas, the pesticides used are generally not a problem if you toss the peel. As for me, I consider the peels to be forbidden from my compost pile.
