Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.
This is probably gunna sound like a really stupid question but id like to give uncle Jesse's sour mash recipe a go for the first run of my pot still as it looks like an easy way to start out.
My question is this. The recipe states ' 7 lbs (3.2kg) cracked corn. 6-8 pieces/kernel is the proper crack. If using bird feed, make sure it is perishable, or in other words is free of preservatives.' What is cracked corn and where can i get it? I dont understand that whole '6 to 8 pieces/kernal is the proper crack' business.... Is it just the corn you buy at the supermarket when you wanna make pop corn?
