subject: honey as smoothing agent
Does anybody know the origins or how long people have used small amounts of honey as a smoothing agent? thanks

Just a guess, but any place where there was alcohol and honey, someone was probably combining the two. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the ancient Eygtians were using honey 5 thousand years ago.

It's my understanding that honey is a basic ingredient for mead, and that it has been used since ancient egypt in the alcohol process.
