specific gravity question?

specific gravity question?

I just checked my starting spg and it said it was a 1.5 does this sound right i checked it on the calculator and it said 70 something percent if i run it down to .990 it was a little past the 50 befor the 2.00 markwhat do you folks think is something screwed up somewhere?
