Mash? wash?

making a pot still at the moment and want to know how to make a effective first timer mash/wash! really new to this and dont know where else to get information about it. not to boithered about what i make just want to make something, a whiskey would be nice. if someone could give me a recipey for how to make one from things you would find at the supermarket and time lengths to ferment it, would be brill!!!

Try Uncle Jesse's Simple Sour Mash, very easy and inexpensive.

There's a recipe for a very simple orange wine up on this forum. Can tell you from experience it makes a decent orange brandy.
