Conical Fermenter

Post by Iamnotanalcoholic »

I see these conical fermenters on ebay for about $120. They are supposed to help you recapture yeast and generally make it easier. Does anyone have any experience with one? Is it work the $? Does it really make it easier than a barrel? Thx.

I agree, those plastic fermentors are pretty slick, but too much cash for plastic. I would recommend getting ahold of a used 15 gallon beer keg and giving some of that money to a local welder. There are lots of great modifications homebrewers have come up with for those old kegs...they hold 15.5 gallons, they're almost free (if you look around a little...) Check out what these guys do...http://www.kegs.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

no affiliation, but I have copied some of their ideas. and very happy with how it works. has anyone out there priced any sabco kegs? curious how much these cost now...
