Post by jackson98 »

i am building a reflux still and i looking at my takeoff valve problem. i got a 1/4 tube for the takeoff then it'll go to a stainless steel valve, could i use brass compression fittings to attach the tube to the valve?

ya i just didnt know, i know their are some stuff in the brass connections but not much of the actual product would even touch the brass, its just a lot cheaper and easer use the brass compression fitting.

I use brass fittings, as long as you de-lead the fittings before use they should be OK. make a mix of peroxide and vinegar and soak the fitting for half an hour, you will see all the crap come off.
