I am sitting here next to the still and every so often the boiling chips bounce in the boiler and then the take off comes at a faster rate. I am using natural gas for heat and it is maintaining a steady temperature. Any thoughts about why this might be? It has been running quite slowly. I have been pulling off about half a quart every hour or so. It has been coming off at around 92% which I thought was pretty good, but should be able to get a bit higher ABV%. Have a look at my bucket and let me know what you think.

Re: Surging up the Column!
Figured it out. Had a leak around the top of the boiler. My seal got cut when I placed the column on my keg.
This explains the varying rates of take-off.
