Questions on Coils, Thermeters

First I would like to thank everyone who steered me towards a VM Reflux. I'm making great progress on my column I have a few questions left, I could use some more suggestions.

I have a 2" triclamp end cap that I want to pass my coil through I was thinking of putting a compression bulkhead fitting on it. Anyone have a better solution?

Now to thermometers. How many should I have and where should I place them.
