Mint vodka
Well after having acquired experience at making neutral tasting, 94% spirits, i was thinking of flavoring it! I don't really want to buy essences and mix. I have a bit of mint growing at home so i though of infusing that into the alcohol. I just love a minty taste. Anyone ever tried anything like this or have a recipe? If not im going to experiment with a bunch of little jar and different amount of leafs and time for aging.

I'm farely certain there are a few things about mint posted. Pretty sure vodka is in the mix.

you can mascerate , but the nice green color will turn brown and your flavor will lose its "brightness" quickly
you can distill with leaves like Gin, but the active components in mint have a higher boiling point than ethanol.
best way is to pack your potstil (column won't work for this) with mint leaves and enough water to fill to 1/4 the volume that the leaves take up.
collect very slowly, the water you colect will have a minty twang, but the real gold is the very small amount oil that collects on the surface of the water.
you'll only need a drop or two in a litre of neutral to get some very minty vodka.

I know you said you didn't want to add a flavor but if you go that route this is what I use. http://www.flavorganics.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
I used this to make a very nice menthol peppermint schnapps. Clears, sugar, essence. Simple.
Got it at a local health food store. Make sure you get "pure essence",as it has an alcohol content and is highly concentrated.
