Is a Sugar wash drinkable
Was thinking of doing a SW, just wondering what it tastes like, much like weak vodka i would imagine, i would be hopeing for about 11%+ ideally about 16% and was looking at this recipe http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... =14&t=6782,
8 pounds of sugar{dissolved in hot water}
1 tsp of citric acid
1 tsp of DAP
1 tsp of gypsum{You can get this from a beermaking supplier}
A pinch of epsom salts{Less than 1/8 of a tsp}
1/4 cup of distillers yeast,or 1/2 cup of bakers yeast{sprinkled on top}
If i decided not to distill is the above going to be drinkable at all, maybe mix with OG or the like?
Also i take it that distillers yeast is yeast such as champagne yeast?

it whould be like a unflavored wine,,you whould have the taste of the yeast.
yeast are chosen for flavor as well as how they ferment, that is why there is so many . some are better at grains,sugar,fruit.
as they add to the flavor "profile"

Yes you can drink.
Maybe not bad to you, but certainly not good (imo).
Not like weak vodka at all.
You' be better off with a real wine/beer recipe. Or prhaps a ginger beer?

Make a beer,cider or wine if not wanting to distill.
Now im thirsty!

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.-Frank Sinatra

Why not just build a simple still.

this reminds me. A friend of mine is a prison gaurd. He said that the inmates there will make booze out or anything. They will drink your piss after a night of drinking just to get a buzz. I bet they would love some raw sugar wash
