Whats the penalty in NSW Australia?

Post by Tugga »

I just had the cops search my back shed because there were allagations of me selling alcohol. They didn't find anything cause I had my sill in the garage which thank god they didn't search. Is there anyone from NSW Australia that knows the penalty for making and selling moonshine? (I have decided not to sell it anymore not even to my close mates)

Seems strange to me that the cops didn't search more thoroughly. They may be dumb but not totally stupid. Good luck, they'll be back.

Selling however is totally stupid. Why in the name of christ did you do such a thing?? Good luck, I hear that Long Bay is nice.

EDIT: Please tell me that your post is bullshit, tugga.

Shit, that's a hobby ender isn't it? You'll always be a person of interest... Get rid of your still and don't use one again would be my advice.

Sorry, but you won't find much sympathy here for any legal troubles you have from selling. This is a strictly hobby level, personal use forum only, always has been.

See Rule 9. (You did read the rules when you joined this forum?)

I don't wish ill upon you, but you made your choice, and you gotta wear the consequences. Same rule as for everybody else.

Get a good lawyer is about the only legal advice we can or should give you.
Be safe.
Be discreet.
And have fun.

Hello Tugga and welcome to the boards. God, thats a bummer  Those of us on HD that distill in a non-legalised country are doing so illegally and if dobbed in, which I suspect is the case here, run the risk of being prosecuted. I know its so easy for someone to offer you 10 bucks for a bottle of your hooch, but its just not worth it. Its one thing standing in court arguing the point about our hobby being practiced illegally for its scientific qualities and making a case for for the research and theory involved, but quite another when we take from the excise mans back pocket when he is not looking.

My advice:
Get a solicitor/lawyer, make a case for the benefits behind our science and get rid of the still.
I'm with the Masters on this one, dump the still, get legal advice, don't distill again and I do hope this is a wind-up...

Good luck man...

Sorry tugga but this forum has a set of rules we live by and one of the rules - which I'm sure you read before posting is:-

6. No discussions of any illegal activity, except the actual hobby level distillation process. These forums are only for discussing the creation and enjoyment of high quality spirits for one's own personal consumption. They are not for the discussion or promotion of any other illegal activities, including illegal drugs, obtaining stilling materials by illegal means, etc.Offenders may be banned.

You will note the in the second line "creation and enjoyment of high quality spirits for one's own personal consumption."

You fucked up badly and it is not in our interest to advise you what to do. I'm locking this topic and banning you from HD.
