We forget what that vehicle was all about.

Buddy of mine was a loader in a tank battalion back when overseas meant Germany.
Spent many many hours tearing them things down. And many hours a sleep under em.

They don't make 'em like that anymore. Back in about 1967 or so I bought a 1954 Ford army jeep for hunting. It was a pile of junk, but kept right on rolling. I got about 3 years out of it before I sold it to mechanic to "fix up" as his hunting vehicle. I think he used it for another 3 years.

that's fun to watch, but it's pretty darn obvious that it aint a real jeep you could go for a ride in.
...there doesn't appear to be a radiator or a fuel tank.
