Pyrex is heat resistant glass; very good.
Bomex sounds like plastic. OK for a funnel, but I would not use it in a still or for storage.
Pyrex and bomex...maybe the glass has an outer skin of plastic as a safety thing. If the glass breaks then the plastic will prevent spills and glass going everywhere. This is good as long as the plastic is on the outside.

Bomex is borrosilcate labware that has been semi-heat treated in lieu of being made from Pyrex Soda .Good durable stuff. If you use it to boil, make sure you use glass boiling chips.

thx guys...i wont be boiling out of the flaskes or cylinder, just want to use them for collection . ive been looking around localy and havent been able to find a copper or SS funnel, looks like i will have to mail order.
i did add about 2 foot of copper to my SS still, feels like i am back in the service doing the bright work.
