Re: Rmoving Sanko Ring
here is how I do it. find the end of the ring then take a very small screwdriver and pry then end of the ring out far enough to get another screwdriver behind it. once you do that then just work it around until you can grab it with some pliers and pull her on out of there. be sure to relieve all of the pressure in your keg first also by depressing the ball in the middle. If you look straight into it you will see how it goes in when you depress the little ball.

be sure and let me know how this works out for ya.

Thanks KY. Shinner, I had to soak alot of hot water around the ring also, It was gummed up badly with heavy tan looking gummie crude . Then it came out, The inside of the 5 keg had the same paste like in it, It came from a mico brewer.I took a old screw driver and file the end down to fit down under to get it out. Thanks- worked great.

Re: Rmoving Sanko Ring
when i built my still a year ago, i took the valve out even before doing much research. i could see the clip and knew what i had to do. i knew there is Some pressure in a keg, and a little bit of beer too (foam), but not as much as there was in mine. i used a screw driver to push the ball down, and naturaly i was looking down at it. the screw driver slid into the valve jamming the ball down, keeping it open, and sending a huge spray of beer all over me. i laughed my ass off! ok, i got covered in beer, but i was another step closer to having my "baby" ... so i didn't mind too much. my wife on the other hand ... well that was a different story.

I also learnt the hard way. What a bloody sticky mess, and................................................................. it happens so fast.

Simple potstiller. Slow, single run.
(50 litre, propane heated pot still. Coil in bucket condenser - No thermometer, No carbon)
The Reading Lounge AND the Rules We Live By should be compulsory reading
Cumudgeon and loving it.

Re: Rmoving Sanko Ring
I have been to college parties where ignorant kids will be messing with an empty keg trying to get the last of the beer out (usually happens when there is no more). Needless to say the same thing happens. They made a mess of the place. Just glad it wasn't my place haha.
