same yeast, different wash

Post by Guest »

I have a batch of happy healthy yeast finishing thier work on a molasses wash right now. I will be starting another wash with the same recipe as soon as the fermenter is empty. My question is can I re use the yeast on the next wash and if so, will I need to use more energizer? The yeast is 1118.

Do it all the time. I've done up to 60 liters on a 5 gram sachet.

Im doing a sugar wash right now, the yeast is working very well. If I rack the wash off the lees, can I fill it right back up with water and sugar? Toss another 60 grams of yeast nutrient. Will it ferment just as good as the first time?

If so, are there any tricks to it that I might need to know?

Shoul be fine. You may not need that much nutrient. I have done a dunder rum and the second time around was better and faster than 1st.
