Butter Fingers....Oops!
After doing a 15 hour stripping run and having been up all night, i was testing the over-all amount. Filled cylinder, turned to put hydrometer in and... yep, you guessed it, DROPPED the tube. Luckily it landed on a 5 Gallon carboy, shattering only the cylinder and spraying glass and liquid all over the floor. Now I just have to find another one.(50 ml. Pyrex, single Metric). Remember,... Safety First!

Fifteen hours is a long time for a hobby stilling run, rain. In fact, it's a #$%^&* long time!!!!

Yup, about four hours from lighting the burner to stripping down for cleaning is the max for me.

Sorry for the profanity, Larry. This forum needs a spell check.

agree, 15+ hours is a little long. Wouldn't be surprised if I dropped something by the end of that either...
My 10 gallon strips take about 3 hours, 1 to come to temp, 2 to run. I did take about 6 hours to run a spirit run of 80%, which I was not expecting, but a strip should go pretty fast depending on the set-up.
