Alcohol-Resistant Auto-Siphon?
I've read that some of the auto-siphons out there are made of acrylic, which won't stand up to the 45% ethanol in low wines. Thoughts? How does everyone else transfer low wines if direct pour isn't an option? Thanks!!

Made of Type 316 Stainless Steel and our pharmaceutical grade Chemical Tolerant Silicone tubing, this is likely the last siphon you will ever need. Includes an anti-sediment tip to reduce carry over of sediment.
Do not be fooled by companies using clear PVC tubing on their siphon. While it is much lower in cost, PVC tubing has a poor resistance rating to ethanol and can leach plasticizers. The Ultimate Siphon™ uses pharmaceutical grade silicone tubing with an excellent resistance rating to ethanol, combined with a Type 316 stainless steel racking cane for the highest resistance of any stainless steel siphon.

I bought something like that on ebay, just search for stainless racking cane. The guy I bought from also had the proper size silicone tubing for the racking cane. All together for the cane and 6ft of tubing it cost me $25 with shipping. It will be worth the cost though; I don't have it yet but on my first spirit run I was forced to pour 5 gallons of low wines from a glass carboy into my beer keg boiler using a funnel. Not fun, and I spilled a bit too.

The acrylic type are basically for transferring your wash into the boiler. I would use either glass or stainless if you cannot directly pour into your boiler. Make sure you dont go above 45% ABV in your boiler.
