Hello all.
After cutting the middle section of the handle off of the lid of my stockpot (to make room for the column connection) I was left with two protrusions sticking up. In an incredible act of physical dexterity I managed to step on the lid while it was upside down, resting on the handle. One of the protrusions took the brunt of the force and bent completely flat against the lid and the underside of the lid bent also, where the bottom of the weld was. After gently pushing it back to it's original position the piece came off completely and I was left with a small hole about 4mm by 5mm in size. Can I cover this with flour paste/PTFE tape/plug it with cork or must I have a patch welded onto it? Thank you in advance for your time.
